Thriving Together through Plants

20 years ago, John was hit with a slew of health issues. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer, fatty liver disease, heart disease, pre-diabetes, arthritis, and more. At only 55 years of age, there was too much life left to live to ignore the mounting problems. 

As a self-proclaimed “Barbeque King”, John never thought he would adopt a whole food, plant-based diet. He loved meat, eggs, and cheese, and at that time considered vegetarians to be living strange lifestyles. Despite those initial reservations, John searched for a way to reverse his cancer diagnosis that didn’t include chemo and medications and it was during that search that he stumbled across a study seeking to reverse cancer through a plant-based diet. It was this shift that would save John’s life. 

After adopting a WFPB diet, John experienced incredible results. He not only lost 110 lbs, but he reversed all of his ailments — the pre-diabetes, cancer, liver and heart disease…all gone!

His wife, Sandy, also saw amazing results after making the switch with John. After adopting a plant-based diet, Sandy went from 175 lbs to 106 lbs, and has now found a comfortable weight where she feels happy and healthy. She’s immersed herself in learning how to cook nutritious and delicious foods, and has even inspired her friends and family to make some of the same shifts themselves!

At 74 and 73 years of age, John and Sandy are living life in their optimal health. Their days are now filled with paddle boarding, bicycling, hiking, cooking and inspiring others to thrive.
